Tabitha Villarrubia is a founding partner and co-owner at Villarrubia & Rosenberger, P.C. Ms. Villarrubia’s legal practice requires close interaction with a variety of government agencies, including the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services, National Visa Center, U.S. Department of State, U.S. Department of Justice, Consular Offices, Immigration, and Customs Enforcement, Customs and Border Protection, Board of Immigration Appeals, and the Executive Office of Immigration Review.

Being a native of Puerto Rico, Ms. Villarrubia is able to speak to her clients in both English and Spanish. Ms. Villarrubia understands the cultural issues that arise out of both Immigration cases and Family law cases. Having a family of immigrants, Ms. Villarrubia understands the hardships that immigrant families face.

Ms. Villarrubia represents individuals in all aspects of immigration law. Ms. Villarrubia has extensive knowledge in helping individuals through marriage and family petitions, adjustment of status, consular processing, and the waiver process. Further, Ms. Villarrubia has helped hundreds of individuals and families through humanitarian visas such as U visas, T visas, and VAWAs. Further, Ms. Villarrubia has helped many individuals facing removal through Cancellation of Removal, Temporary Protected Status, Voluntary Departure, and Prosecutorial Discretion. Ms. Villarrubia has helped many students through the program referred to as Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals.

Ms. Villarrubia also represents individuals facing the difficulties of divorce, legal separation, custody, paternity, parenting time, child support, contempt petitions, emancipation, protective orders, children in need of services (CHINS), and Termination of Parental Rights (TPR). Within her family, she has firsthand encounters that have equipped her to approach each case with compassion and a fire for justice for her clients. Ms. Villarrubia works closely with clients and uses a “team approach”. Ms. Villarrubia gives her clients options and allows her clients to take the lead on their case.

Active in the community, Ms. Villarrubia is on the board of Wheeler Mission and Indiana Legal Services, where she serves as the Chair of the Diversity Committee. In the past, she has been on the board of Allies, Inc., a non-profit organization that educates the community on modern-day slavery, and past secretary to the Latino Affairs committee to the Indiana State Bar Association (ISBA). Ms. Villarrubia also educates immigrants in the community by speaking at churches and other organizations about their rights and options as immigrants. Ms. Villarrubia is also a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), the Indiana State Bar Association, and the Indianapolis Bar Association.

Ms. Villarrubia received her J.D. from Indiana University School of Law – Indianapolis in 2005. She received her Bachelor of Arts at Olivet Nazarene University in 2001. While at Olivet Nazarene University, Ms. Villarrubia studied in Costa Rica, Nicaragua, and Guatemala for four months, and as a result, she is able to comprehend the cultural issues that face immigrants in the United States today. Ms. Villarrubia is admitted to practice law in Indiana, Indiana Supreme Court, and the Southern District of Indiana.
